This service is completly flexable in respect of the times and hours that the customer feels appropiate.
Although, we have found that a four hour practical consultation spread works best to start with. All the relevant areas are covered within this time band for you to have adequate knowledge to be growing sucessfully.

Vegtable Plots..
Whether you dont know your carrots from your pumkins, or are an experienced grower you will find that these few hours spent enhancing your skills will be of great advantage to you. Things dont just grow from nothing, you must have certain vitals in place beforehand and this is what the practical demonstrations with you are all about.
When choosing a suitable vegetable plot one must keep certain very important factors in mind. Such as..soil type, sun direction and of course vermin proof control. A suitable space whether small or large in your garden will be appropriate and practical. We will teach you from scratch how to grow the vegetables of your choice in whatever quantites suit the plot.
So to begin we will go through the soil preparation, adding farm yard manure (can be supplied) to enrice the soils which will breath life into your vegetables. Digging the drills and preparing the ridges. Sowing the seeds or transplanting plants, getting early middle or late potatoes in on time through to proper harvesting.
Fruit Crops..
You will learn how to pick quality plants, grow and maintain, and eventually harvest the fruits of your labour. There are so many choices that we can grow with our temperate climate here, its not just apples. You can grow plums, Raspberries, Strawberries, Gooseberries, Red and Blackcurrants and Rhubarb but to name a few. Fruit trees are very easy to care for, Vermin proofing is a mjor factor to consider when planting fruits..
There alot of different varieties of apple but mainly two groups, eating and cooking apples. Most varietys need a comrade tree to pollenate with as a lone tree will be fruitless. Apart from asthetics of a couple of apple tress in your garden, beautiful when in flower and in fruit with a yeild to cook from and eat. You can learn how to make jams out of your own fresh fruits or bake your own apple or rhubarb tarts to your hearts content. Kids always enjoy picking and eating fresh fruit and no better place to learn early but in your own familys garden.
